I am really excited about creating a large scale laser cut piece made from mount board…Below is a maquette 50 cm by 50 cm, so I can play around with ideas. My exhibition is in the beautiful Didsbury Parsonage, so I will using similar techniques, but using the building as inspiration. My work will be installed around one of their beautiful windows, so I am planning to play around with different fabrics to use the natural light that floods in…I`ll keep you updated! but for now my doodles!

A little something about me…
Whitworth Gallery family picnic….
I spent a lovely Saturday facilitating a family picnic day at the Whitworth Art Gallery….yes an indoor picnic complete with blankets and baskets! Families bring their own picnic and create Art as a family- such a lovely idea! The workshop I delivered was inspired by the Beyond Borders exhibition.
My daughter Ruby loved the picnic idea, preferring to do an umbrella dance rather than than the workshop!
An amazing dolls house collection…
Three-Dimensional Pictures….
I can`t get enough of layering! These three-dimensional pictures are all about layering! Made from laser cut mount board, japanese paper, brass and cork (to create the height) layered to play with depth and pattern.
This is made from laser cut mount board and japanese paper…
This one is made from laser cut mount board and plywood, brass, cork, coloured paper and japanese paper.
Laser cut paper creations!
All three pictures are inspired by different places; Newby Hall (my favourite stately home and where I got married!), Port Meirion ( such a quirky place) and Claydon House (another beautiful stately home).
The picture below is Newby Hall, a beautiful stately home in Yorkshire, near Ripon. I designed it for my wedding invitation and was inspired by the ceiling in the statue gallery. It`s made from laser cut mount board, layered underneath with coloured paper and japanese paper in the centre. The back of each picture is mount board, making the pieces 3 mm thick.
I love these frames from Nkuku, the pictures fit perfectly in them!
Inspired by the quirky village of Port Meirion the picture below is made from laser cut gold mount board, layered underneath with coloured paper.
