I visited the Chapel Gallery to lead a workshop as part of their holiday programme…..We had so much fun making origami books. Everyone was so talented! and the stories were so beautifully imaginative….
‘Laser cutting Kevin‘ kindly let me test my designs out of paper today……..it is so much fun to watch a laser cutter at work- amazing! I just need to tweek my designs and hopefully i`ll have some finished pieces to share with you soon.
The exciting commission for the Chapel Gallery is completed (after some unexpected technical hiccups!) The books look beautiful and i hope the prize winners will treasure them for years to come….
The Chapel Gallery have commissioned me to produce a front cover for a short story book and book of poetry. I`m really excited about this as it means i get to work with Lucy May Schofield and learn about book binding. I am taking inspiration from Rob Ryan ( his work is amazing and he has become so popular in the last six months) and the new covers for the penguin classics. I am meeting Lucy at the book binding workroom on friday so i`ll keep you posted with my progress.
I have been wanting to go to Victoria Baths for some time as i had heard about the restoration project and a vintage fair there finally prompted me to go. I would highly recommend going to have a look,(unless you have a fear of empty swimming pools,(like my friend), in which case i wouldn`t advise it!) The stained glass is amazing, although wrap up it is really chilly inside.
